1: Getting better at getting better is what RiseWithDrew is all about.
Monday through Thursday, we explore ideas from authors, thought leaders, and exemplary organizations. On Friday, I share something about myself or what we are working on at PCI.
How do we make 2024 the best year of our life?
First, we set annual goals that inspire us. That motivate us. Things we want to accomplish on the way to becoming the person we want to be.
Two weeks ago, we took a deep dive into my proven process to create inspiring annual goals.
This week, we explored Hal Elrod’s powerful book, The Miracle Morning. We committed to getting up an hour earlier to change our lives. With this extra hour, we can do many things, including visualizing our annual goals and journaling about what to do next to make each goal a reality.
“All things are created twice,” says Stephen Covey tells us.
“There’s a mental or first creation, and a physical or second creation to all things,” he writes in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
“Take the construction of a home, for example. We create it in every detail before we ever hammer the first nail into place. . . Then we reduce it to a blueprint and develop construction plans. . .
“We have to make sure that the blueprint, the first creation, is really what we want, that we’ve thought everything through. Then we put it into bricks and mortar. . . .
“We begin with the end in mind. Through imagination, we can visualize the uncreated worlds of potential that lie within us.”
Step one: Create our annual goals
Step two: Regularly review our goals and plan the next steps.
That’s how we make 2024 the best year of our lives.
More next week!

Reflection: Do I typically set goals for the year ahead? How many of those goals do I achieve? Do I want to increase my goal success rate?
Action: Commit to (1) writing my goals down for 2024 and then (2) utilizing the Miracle Morning practice to make those goals a reality.
