1: Getting better at getting better is what RiseWithDrew is all about.
Monday through Thursday, we explore ideas from authors, thought leaders, and exemplary organizations. On Friday, I share something about myself or what we are working on at PCI.
This week [here and here and here and here], we’ve learned how to create and put forward goals to make 2025 the best year of our lives.
Goals that inspire us. Motivate us. Things we want to accomplish on the way to becoming the person we want to be.
2: We’re not done yet.
Articulating our goals is the critical first step.
But it’s not enough. We must now take the equally important second step.
“All things are created twice,” says Stephen Covey tells us.
“There’s a mental or first creation, and a physical or second creation to all things,” he writes in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
“Take the construction of a home, for example. We create it in every detail before we ever hammer the first nail into place. . . Then we reduce it to a blueprint and develop construction plans. . .
“We have to make sure that the blueprint, the first creation, is really what we want, that we’ve thought everything through. Then we put it into bricks and mortar. . . .
“We begin with the end in mind. Through imagination, we can visualize the uncreated worlds of potential that lie within us.”
Step one: Create our annual goals
Step two: Commit to reviewing our goals regularly and plan the next steps.
3: A great place to start?
Read Hal Elrod‘s powerful book, The Miracle Morning.
What do we do? Specifically?
To change our lives, we commit to getting up an hour earlier each day.
With this extra hour, we can do many things.
Including visualizing our annual goals and journaling about what to do next to make each goal a reality.
Step one.
Step two.
That’s how we actually make 2025 the best year of our lives.
More next week!

Reflection: Do I typically set goals for the year ahead? How many of those goals do I achieve? Do I want to increase my goal success rate?
Action: (1) Write down my goals for 2025. Then, (2) utilize The Miracle Morning practice to realize those goals.
