1: Getting better at getting better is what RiseWithDrew is all about.
Last week [here and here and here and here], we learned how to set and achieve goals to make 2026 the best year of our lives.
Goals that inspire and motivate us, driving us toward the person we want to become.
But we’re not done yet.
Articulating our goals is the critical first step.
But it’s not enough. Now we must take the equally important second step.
“All things are created twice,” Stephen Covey tells us.
“There’s a mental or first creation, and a physical or second creation to all things,” he writes in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
It’s similar to building a home. “We begin with the end in mind. Through imagination, we can visualize the uncreated worlds of potential that lie within us.”
But then it’s time to bring our vision to life by creating the actual house. It’s time to start hammering some nails.
Step one: Create our annual goals
Step two: Commit to reviewing our goals regularly and plan the next steps.
2: A great place to start?
Read Hal Elrod’s powerful book The Miracle Morning.
What do we do? Specifically?
To change our lives, we commit to getting up an hour earlier each day.
Why? Because the key to creating the life we want is to focus our attention on the parts of our day where we have maximum control: The beginning and end of the day.
That first hour of the morning, while the house is quiet, is our time. No one is asking questions. There are no distractions. We can focus on what is most important. Including our goals to make 2026 the best year of our lives.
3: What if we spent time each morning visualizing our annual goals and journaling about what to do next to make each goal a reality?
Step one: Write down our 2026 goals.
Step two: Review those goals every morning and plan what to do next to achieve them.
That’s how we actually make 2026 the best year of our lives.
More tomorrow!

Reflection: How committed am I to not only writing down my 2026 goals but also reviewing them every morning so I consistently take the next step toward the life I want?
Action: Schedule a one-hour morning block starting tomorrow to review my 2026 goals, visualize each one, and journal specific next actions so I steadily turn my vision for 2026 into reality.
