1: Getting better at getting better is what RiseWithDrew is all about.

Monday through Thursday, we explore ideas from authors, thought leaders, and exemplary organizations. On Friday, I share something about myself or what we are working on at PCI.

As the calendar flips over, it is a good time to do a quick retrospective on RiseWithDrew for 2024.

I started writing RiseWithDrew back on the week of May 4th, 2020. I’ve written every weekday (except holidays) for over four years.

Each week, Monday through Thursday, I focus on lessons from one specific book. On Fridays, I write something about myself or something we are working on at PCI, where I serve as CEO.

2: In the 52 weeks of 2024, I wrote about 16 different books, plus one week where I shared my annual goal-setting system.

The two books I wrote about the most in 2024 were How to Know a Person by David Brooks and CEO Excellence: The Six Mindsets That Distinguish the Best Leaders from the Rest by Carolyn Dewar, Scott Keller, and Vikram Malhotra. I wrote about each book for eight weeks.

I wrote about Fred Kofman’s The Meaning Revolution: The Power of Transcendent Leadership for six weeks and Peter Attia’s Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity for five weeks.

There were two books I wrote about for four weeks: Jeffrey Fox’s How to Become a Rainmaker and Brant Pinvidic’s The 3-Minute Rule: Say Less to Get More from Any Pitch or Presentation.

I wrote about four other books two or three weeks: Dan Sullivan and Ben Hardy’s 10x is Easier than 2x (3 weeks), Steven Kotler’s The Art of Impossible (3 weeks), Barbara Fredrickson’s Love 2.0: Creating Happiness and Health in Moments of Connection (3 weeks), and Robert Waldinger and Marc Schulz’s The Good Life: Lessons from the World’s Longest Scientific Study of Happiness (2 weeks).

There were five books I wrote about one week each: David McCullough’s John Adams, Kim Scott’s Radical Candor, Daniel Coyle’s The Culture Code, Ryan Holiday’s The Lives of the Stoics, and Matthew Walker’s Why We Sleep.

3: So many learnings! So much wisdom!

On future Fridays in 2025, I’m planning to shake things up a bit and do a deep dive into the wisdom and wit of Charlie Munger, the long-time friend and business partner of Warren Buffett.

More next week!  On to 2025!
