1: Getting better at getting better is what RiseWithDrew is all about.

Monday through Thursday, we explore ideas from authors, thought leaders, and exemplary organizations. On Friday, I share something about myself or what we are working on at PCI.

1: As we finish 2023, it seems like a good time to do a quick retrospective on RiseWithDrew this year.

I started writing RiseWithDrew back on the week of May 4th, 2020. I’ve written every weekday (except holidays) for over three years.

Each week, Monday through Thursday, I focus on lessons from one specific book. On Fridays, I write something about myself or something we are working on at PCI, where I serve as CEO.

2: In the 52 weeks of 2023, I wrote about 17 different books, plus one week where I shared my annual goal-setting system.

The two books I wrote about the most in 2023 were Steven Kotler’s The Art of Impossible (LOVE that book!) and Chris Voss’s Never Split the Difference. I wrote about each book for eight weeks.

There were four other books I wrote about three weeks or more: Dan Sullivan and Ben Hardy’s The Gap and the Gain (six weeks), Daniel Coyle’s The Culture Code (five weeks), Tim Keller’s Every Good Endeavor (five weeks), and Stephen Pinker’s Enlightenment Now (3 weeks).

I wrote about four other books in two different weeks in 2023: Ryan Holiday’s The Obstacle is the Way, Daniel Friedland’s Leading Well from Within, Stephen Denning’s The Leader’s Guide to Storytelling, and Brian Tracy’s Sales Management.

There were seven books I wrote about one week each: Dr. Scott Conard and Vince Pocente’s Which Door?, David McCullough’s John Adams, Kim Scott’s Radical Candor, Marshall Goldsmith’s What Got You Here Won’t Get You There, Hal Elrod’s Miracle Morning, and Brant Pinvidic’s The 3-Minute Rule.

3: So many learnings! So much wisdom!

On future Fridays, I plan to reflect on some of the specific lessons I’ve put into effect in my life from these books I wrote about in 2023.

On to 2024!
