Getting better at getting better is what RiseWithDrew is all about.
Monday through Thursday, we explore ideas from authors, thought leaders, and exemplary organizations. On Friday, I share something about myself or what we are working on at PCI.
This week, we’ve been exploring ideas from Tim Keller in his book Every Good Endeavor: Connecting Your Work to God’s Work.
At PCI, we hire people of many different faiths and beliefs. We aspire to create a workplace environment where all our associates feel comfortable learning, stretching, and dreaming.
We exist to unlock the incredible potential in all of our associates. This is our business strategy.
We hire people who are passionate about life. Passionate people have lots of specific interests. We want them to bring their “whole selves” to work. Because that’s where the magic is.
For me, my faith is an important part of my identity. Being a believer is my identity. So, as people get to know me, they learn that my faith is integral to who I am.
As CEO, my goal isn’t to convert people to Christianity. I prefer the sentiment expressed by Francis of Assisi, who said, “Preach the gospel at all times. And if necessary, use words.” I aspire every day to live my faith. And I fall short. Then I repent, knowing I can receive the free gift of forgiveness. That’s part of what it means to be a Christian.
If people are curious to learn more about what drives me, I will always make time for that conversation. Because I love talking about my faith and how it has changed my life.
And I am always interested in learning what drives them. What is it they are passionate about?
More next week!
