In Stephen Covey’s book The Speed of Trust, he recounts something a client once told him: “Look Stephen, you need to understand something.  Either you have trust or you don’t.  We don’t have it, and there’s nothing we can do about it.”

As Larry David says, not so fast…

Turns out trust is not a fixed trait – something we are either born with or not.

Rather, we create or destroy trust through our actions.

The good news is trust is something we can build, strengthen, and get better at – even in difficult circumstances.  And, as we build trust, it positively impacts the quality of our lives and the results we are able to achieve.

Reflection: Is there a relationship in our lives that feels “stuck?”

Action: What is one thing we might do today do to increase trust?
