1: Getting better at getting better is what RiseWithDrew is all about.

Monday through Thursday, we explore ideas from authors, thought leaders, and exemplary organizations.  On Friday, I share something about myself or what we are working on at PCI.

You can do this.

The last two Fridays, we’ve explored why being a great place to work is a great idea.

First, great workplaces are poised to win the war for talent

Second, great workplaces outperform the competition by a factor of two.

That can be you.  That can be your organization.

2: In 2022, PCI earned a spot on Fortune magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work For list.  We’re currently the #55 best medium-sized company to work for.

But it wasn’t always so.

My dad, who founded PCI, was a great guy.  I loved him dearly.  He was the best man at my wedding…

And, he was an old school, “my way of the highway” kind of manager.

He was a perfectionist.

He wanted to make every decision.

And he did…

Which is a wonderful skill set for an entrepreneur.

Because it’s incredibly difficult to get a new venture off the ground.  That type of passion, even obsession, can make the difference in making it through the start-up phase.

After all, four out of five new ventures fail within five years of their founding.

3: But growing a company requires a different skill set from starting a company.

Today, PCI’s workplace culture differs dramatically from when I showed up in 1995.

Dramatically different.

My point is this: You can change your workplace culture.

“Small, Smart Choices done consistency over time will make a radical difference,” Darren Hardy tells us.

You can do this.

More next week!
